Collecting With Jim Condron
If you’re interested in the art of collecting or collecting art... We are thrilled to have five original works by artist Jim Condron on display at the Park Avenue store.

Sharing the windows with our Spring/Summer ’26 arrivals, the pieces were made specifically for Richard James and are constructed from the kinds of collected bits, bobs and curios that underpin Condron’s recent work. Much of what is on display is constructed from cribbing lumber, and the painting on some of the pieces reference cloth patterns from our new-season tailoring.
Trained as a painter, Condron has developed a distinctive hybrid style that sits between painting and sculpture. Found objects are transformed through painting, assemblage and reinterpretation to create works that convey the previous lives of their component parts while expressing humour, beauty and absurdity.

The exhibition includes five works: He’s impossible not to hate (2023-2026), I wish I knew I didn’t have to print this (2026), He couldn’t come to lunch (2026), The age of imitation when there are no dangers although it depended (2026) and They talked on into the early morning, the high, pale cast of light in the windows, and they did not think of leaving (2026).
The titles drawn are taken from fragments of conversation or literature and add an additional layer of intrigue to pieces that celebrate the beauty of everyday, often overlooked objects.
Jim Condron is at Richard James, 461 Park Avenue until 25th May. For sales inquiries please contact Jim on jim@jcondron.com or Milan-based art advisor Helen Varola on helenvarola@gmail.com.
