Here’s our contribution to Sheep Art, Woolmark’s artfully conceived social auction in aid of the British Fashion Council Education Foundation, which coincides with next week’s London Collections: Men.
The other participants are Christopher Raeburn, Lou Dalton, SIBLING, Paul Smith, Timothy Everest and, not least, British GQ Editor-in-Chief and LC:M chairman Dylan Jones. And, save for Mr Jones, the inspiration behind each participant’s piece of Sheep Art is Cool Wool and their SS15 collection, which all will be showcasing at LC:M. See each piece of Sheep Art here.
“Ours is a well-camouflaged Merino sheep!” explains Richard. “Our SS15 collection contemplates the irresistible, all-engulfing infinity of the Sahara desert in the company of the Desert Rats, a legendary troop of men that effortlessly embodied those fine, defining British qualities of derring-do and dogged determination in the face of the most trying circumstances. And as you’d expect with a collection that takes inspiration from a band of Brits who knew better then most how to keep cool in the heat of the moment, Cool Wool is an essential part of it.”
Cool Wool is a lightweight Merino wool fabric with a maximum weight of just 190 g/m² that will feature strongly in our collection. Light, unbeatably comfortable and remaining relatively crease free, it has long been a favoured suiting of ours.
