THE MADE-TO-MEASURE TAILORING PROCESS
We can advise, but the fine detail is down to you

1. CONSULTATION & CLOTH
On your first visit, we talk through what you need the garment for and help you choose your style - single- or double-breasted, for example - and cloth: from classic wool twills for everyday wear, to winter tweeds, lightweight linens and fine baratheas for evening wear. We also discuss construction, from a full canvas for structure to a lighter half canvas, and take your measurements.

2. PERSONAL DETAIL
While we’re together, we also consider the details that really make the garment your own. Lapel style and width, lining colour, buttons and pocket styles are all your choice, along with trouser details such as turn-ups, pleats and fly. We're on hand to guide you through the options, but these decisions are yours to make.

3. PATTERN
We then match your measurements against our pattern block that is closest to your build and adjust and refine it until it is personal to you. Starting from a pattern block rather than a pattern drawn up solely for you is one thing that makes made-to-measure the faster route to a Savile Row garment.

4. CUTTING & MAKING
Your pattern is cut and your garment is made up, with the level of care given to canvassing, buttonholes and linings that you'd expect from us. This typically takes between six and eight weeks - considerably quicker than a bespoke garment, though nothing is rushed.

5. FITTING & COLLECTION
You return for a fitting, where we check balance, drape and length and make any necessary adjustments. A single fitting is usually all that's needed. Once everything is exactly as you want it, your garment is ready to be worn and enjoyed.
