STYLE, CLOTH & FINE DETAIL
The made-to-measure process is as simple as it is swift. Firstly, you visit us at our Bespoke store in London or our New York store, where you tell us what you are looking for and we take your measurements. Then, you decide on the cloth, construction and fine detail of your garment. We can advise on every aspect of your garment, but the final decisions are down to you.
With regards to selecting a cloth, the most important thing to bear in mind is what you are going to wear it for. Which weights, colours, patterns and weaves will work? We offer thousands of cloths, from classic wool twills for everyday wear, to winter tweeds, lightweight cottons and linens for warmer climes, plush velvets and fine-woven baratheas for evening wear and nights under the lights, and more…
Then comes the question of construction: fully canvassed or half-canvassed? Basically, fully canvassed jackets and coats are made with a layer of horsehair throughout the whole of the front panels and the lapels, which ensures perfect structure and shape. Half-canvassed jackets and coats only feature horsehair through the chest area and lapels and, as such, and are less structured, but can also be lighter and easier-wearing.
And finally, but not least importantly, there is the fine detail, such as the colour of your lining, the style and width of your lapels, the colour and fabrication of your buttons, trousers with turn ups or not, belt loops or side adjustors, a zip or button fly, the type and number of pockets…
